What We Take: Renovation Debris Removal
A renovation load is drywall and plaster, lumber and trim, old cabinets and countertop, tile and backer board, hardwood and laminate flooring, carpet and padding, windows and doors, light fixtures, bathroom fittings, and the packaging the new material came in. Sinks, tubs and toilets go too once they are disconnected. Metal studs, ducting, copper pipe and old radiators come out of the load as scrap. Tile, plaster and any concrete in the pile are heavy for the space they fill, so they are weighed rather than measured. Paint and thinner off the job we take, quoted on their own for special handling.
The ones people ask about: we do take paint, chemicals, motor oil, tires, car batteries and propane tanks. They are quoted separately because they need special handling. Mattresses and box springs go to a mattress recycler whenever it will accept them, TVs and monitors go to an e-waste recycler, and appliances holding refrigerant go to a recycler that recovers the refrigerant. Each of those recyclers charges per item, and we pass that charge on for every piece it accepts. All of these charges come on top of the minimum or the volume price, and we tell you each one and confirm it with you before any work starts. Mattresses, box springs, old tube (CRT) TVs and monitors, and appliances holding refrigerant are disposal-banned in Massachusetts. The only things we turn down are asbestos, medical or biohazard waste, and anything leaking or still smoldering. See everything we take.
What Sets the Price on Renovation Debris Removal
Most renovation loads are a mix, and we quote them as a mix rather than averaging them out. The bulky material, the drywall, lumber, cabinets and packaging, is priced by the space it fills, at $70 to $100 a cubic yard. The heavy material, the tile, plaster and concrete, is priced by weight, because disposal is sold to us by the ton. The other half of the number is where the pile is. Debris already stacked in the driveway loads quickly. The same debris in a second-floor bathroom, carried down a finished staircase we are protecting on the way, takes longer. How Much Will This Cost?
Pricing is based on the space your load takes up in the truck, or on weight for heavy material. We give you a free, firm price in person before any work begins, and once you agree to it, it does not go up.

Do you work with contractors or just homeowners?
We work with both. Homeowners call us after DIY projects, and North Shore contractors use us for scheduled site cleanups so their crew isn't burning hours on debris runs.
How is renovation debris priced?
The bulky material is priced by how much of the truck it fills, with a $120 minimum, and tile, plaster and concrete are priced by weight. Tell us what you have and we'll give you a firm, free quote before we load.
Can you come during my renovation, not just at the end?
Yes, many customers book us at the demo stage and again at the end. Keeping the site clear as you go is safer and usually cheaper than one giant final haul.
Can you take an old bathroom out as one job?
Yes, once it is disconnected. The tub, the vanity, the toilet, the tile and the backer board all go on the same load. We do not cut a water line or a drain, so a plumber has to have capped things off first, and we do not unwire a fixture on a live circuit. Once it is loose and safe to touch, the whole room goes in one visit.
We are living in the house while the work happens. Will it be a mess?
No. We carry out along one route, we protect the floor on that route, and the loose dust and offcuts go with the load rather than leaving a ring where the pile was. If there is a room you want us to stay out of entirely, tell us at the door and we will work around it.
Our Mission Beyond the Job
We keep as much out of landfills as we can. We sort through every truckload, and anything still usable that a charity will take goes for donation first, mostly to Big Blue Bargains in Swampscott, More Than Words in Boston and The Salvation Army.
What cannot be donated gets recycled wherever a facility will take it, and whatever is left goes to the disposal facilities we use.
