What an old fence is made of decides how it comes down, so that is the first thing we ask. Wood and vinyl panels come off the posts first, section by section, and get cut down to truck length right there along the run. Chain link works the other way around, the fabric gets unclipped and rolled off the top rail before anything else moves, then the rail, the hardware and the posts follow. You do not need to pull a staple, cut a tie or dig a post before we get there.

The posts are the part people ask about, and you get to pick. A post set in concrete can come out with the footing still attached, which leaves you clean ground to set a new fence in, or we can cut it off at grade and leave the concrete where it sits, which is faster and fine if nothing is going back in that spot. Tell us which one you want when you book. Mention it as well if there are irrigation lines, a buried dog fence or anything else running under the post line, so we know where it is before we start digging. The metal gets pulled out of the load on the way: chain link fabric, posts, top rail and hardware are all scrap, and that goes to Turner Inc in Lynn rather than the transfer station.

The Junk Heroes is a brother-owned and operated junk removal company proudly rooted in Salem, MA. We live right on the line between Salem and Swampscott, two minutes from Vinnin Square, and we started this business because we saw a need for a junk removal service that actually showed up on time, treated customers like neighbors, and charged honest prices.

Pricing is based on the volume and type of items. We always provide a free, upfront quote before any work begins, no surprises, ever.
