What We Take: Commercial Junk Removal
On a commercial job the load is usually broken shelving and racking, display cases and fixtures, pallets and crating, desks and office chairs, retail packaging, old signage, and whatever the back room has been holding for a year. The electronics go too: registers, monitors, printers and the tangle of cable behind them, and all of it goes to an electronics recycler. A beverage cooler or any other unit holding refrigerant is quoted on its own. Steel racking and shelving come out of the load as scrap rather than going to the transfer station.
The ones people ask about: we do take paint, chemicals, motor oil, tires, car batteries and propane tanks. They are quoted separately because they need special handling. Mattresses and box springs go to a mattress recycler whenever it will accept them, TVs and monitors go to an e-waste recycler, and appliances holding refrigerant go to a recycler that recovers the refrigerant. Each of those recyclers charges per item, and we pass that charge on for every piece it accepts. All of these charges come on top of the minimum or the volume price, and we tell you each one and confirm it with you before any work starts. Mattresses, box springs, old tube (CRT) TVs and monitors, and appliances holding refrigerant are disposal-banned in Massachusetts. The only things we turn down are asbestos, medical or biohazard waste, and anything leaking or still smoldering. See everything we take.
What Sets the Price on Commercial Junk Removal
A commercial load is priced the same way a residential one is, by the space it takes up in the truck, at $70 to $100 a cubic yard with a $120 minimum. Two things move it. The first is the door: a loading dock or a roll-up we can back into is the quickest version of this work, while a second-floor suite with one elevator and a shared bay takes longer. The second is the hour. A job that has to happen after you close or before you open needs a crew there at that hour, and that is time rather than a surcharge. We give you the number before we start, and nothing is added to it afterwards.

Pricing is based on the space your load takes up in the truck, or on weight for heavy material. We give you a free, firm price in person before any work begins, and once you agree to it, it does not go up.

How does payment work for businesses?
We accept cash, card, check, Venmo, Zelle and Cash App, and we're happy to provide receipts for your records. Larger jobs get a written quote first.
Can you do recurring pickups?
Yes, several North Shore businesses have us on a regular schedule for overflow and bulk items their waste hauler won't take. Tell us the cadence you need and we'll build it in.
What happens to old shelving, racking and pallets?
Steel racking, wire shelving and the uprights are metal, so they come out of the load as scrap rather than going to the transfer station. Wooden pallets and crating go for recycling wherever the facility takes them. Fixtures and display cases that are still in one piece get offered to a charity before anything else happens to them, which on the North Shore usually means Big Blue Bargains in Swampscott or The Salvation Army.
Can you work in an occupied building without disturbing our tenants?
That is most of what this work is. We agree the route in and out before we start, we use the service entrance and the freight elevator where there is one, and we keep the load moving instead of stacking it in a corridor. If the building has its own rules about hours, insurance certificates or elevator bookings, send them over when you book and we will work to them. We carry $2M in general liability and $1M in commercial auto coverage, so a certificate is no trouble.
Our Mission Beyond the Job
We keep as much out of landfills as we can. We sort through every truckload, and anything still usable that a charity will take goes for donation first, mostly to Big Blue Bargains in Swampscott, More Than Words in Boston and The Salvation Army.
What cannot be donated gets recycled wherever a facility will take it, and whatever is left goes to the disposal facilities we use.
