What We Take: Dumpster Overflow Cleanup
What piles up beside a dumpster is fairly predictable: mattresses, couches and chairs, televisions and monitors, bagged household trash, moving boxes, small appliances, a dorm fridge or a window air conditioner, and the odd bed frame or bike. We take all of it. The mattresses, box springs, TVs and monitors are usually why the regular hauler left the pile, because each of them carries a recycler fee. If a unit has been abandoned and its contents are out there too, say so and we will price the whole thing at once.
The ones people ask about: we do take paint, chemicals, motor oil, tires, car batteries and propane tanks. They are quoted separately because they need special handling. Mattresses and box springs go to a mattress recycler whenever it will accept them, TVs and monitors go to an e-waste recycler, and appliances holding refrigerant go to a recycler that recovers the refrigerant. Each of those recyclers charges per item, and we pass that charge on for every piece it accepts. All of these charges come on top of the minimum or the volume price, and we tell you each one and confirm it with you before any work starts. Mattresses, box springs, old tube (CRT) TVs and monitors, and appliances holding refrigerant are disposal-banned in Massachusetts. The only things we turn down are asbestos, medical or biohazard waste, and anything leaking or still smoldering. See everything we take.
What Sets the Price on Dumpster Overflow Cleanup
Overflow is priced by volume like any other load, at $70 to $100 a cubic yard with a $120 minimum, and the number is usually set by two things. The first is how many mattresses and televisions are in the pile, because every one of them carries its own fee on top of the load, set by what the recycler charges us. The second is how often it happens. A one-off after a move-out weekend is a single job. A property where the overflow is back every month is worth putting on a schedule, so we are there before it spreads rather than after. How Much Will This Cost?
Pricing is based on the space your load takes up in the truck, or on weight for heavy material. We give you a free, firm price in person before any work begins, and once you agree to it, it does not go up.

What exactly is dumpster overflow cleanup?
When bulk items and excess trash pile up around your dumpster (furniture, mattresses, boxes your hauler won't touch), we clear all of it, so the area is clean again.
How fast can you respond to an overflow problem?
We're open 24/7 and treat overflow as urgent, because it attracts pests and complaints fast. We often get there the same day. Send a photo and we'll quote it on the spot, then confirm the number in person before we start.
Do you work with property managers on a recurring basis?
Yes, apartment complexes and retail centers use us for scheduled sweeps, especially around move-out season, when dumpsters tend to overflow.
Is there anything you can't take from a dumpster area?
There are three things: asbestos, medical or biohazard waste, and anything leaking or still smoldering. We do take paint, chemicals, motor oil, tires, car batteries and propane tanks, but they need special disposal channels, so they are quoted separately. Everything else around the dumpster, we handle.
Can you get to the pile without the dumpster being moved?
Almost always. We load by hand from wherever the pile has spread to, and we do not need the container moved or emptied first. If the enclosure has a gate that locks, leave it open or give us a code when you book, and tell us where we can put the truck so we are not blocking the drive lane during business hours.
Do you clean up the area, or only take the pile?
We take it and we leave the area swept. The loose bags, the packing peanuts and the broken glass that always ends up under a pile go with the load rather than staying in the enclosure. If something is staining the pad underneath we will tell you what we see, but pressure washing is not something we do.
Our Mission Beyond the Job
We keep as much out of landfills as we can. We sort through every truckload, and anything still usable that a charity will take goes for donation first, mostly to Big Blue Bargains in Swampscott, More Than Words in Boston and The Salvation Army.
What cannot be donated gets recycled wherever a facility will take it, and whatever is left goes to the disposal facilities we use.
