How We Cover This Much Ground
Henrique and Filipe Wolff run The Junk Heroes out of Salem, which keeps most of this list a short drive from the shop. That is why the price list is the same from town to town: we are pricing the space your load takes up in the truck, not the drive. A cubic yard in Lynn costs what a cubic yard in Beverly costs, and the minimum is $120 either way. The full breakdown is on the pricing page. Distance only comes into it for a job well outside our normal routes, and you would hear that on the phone first.
Being this close also decides where things end up. Scrap metal goes to Turner Inc in Lynn. Most of the rest goes to the Republic transfer station in Peabody, and when a route fills up mid-day we use Pinto Recycling in Peabody or G. Mellow in Georgetown. Anything still worth using gets donated first, mostly to Big Blue Bargains in Swampscott, More Than Words in Boston and The Salvation Army.
We do this by the book. We carry $2M in general liability, a $1M umbrella policy and $1M in commercial auto coverage. We are USDOT registered (USDOT 8843043), our drivers hold DOT medical cards, and we hold commercial accounts at the disposal facilities we use, so every load ends up where it is supposed to. Which towns do you actually cover?
All 31 listed on this page, across Essex, Middlesex and Suffolk counties. We are based in Salem, so most of these are a short drive from the shop. If your town is not on the list it is worth calling anyway, because the edge of the map moves depending on the size of the job.
